The Emma chair is an exclusive design by art director Nicola Cacco for Mobili Fiver, it is entirely made in Italy and is inspired by those small moments of conviviality and sharing that give flavor to everyday life.
But how is the Emma chair born and how can it become the perfect companion for living memorable moments?
We had a chat with Nicola and our design team to discover all the secrets of the Emma chair.
How is the inspiration for the Emma chair born?
“The inspiration for the Emma chair comes from a shared idea of conviviality. The charm of gathering around a table for a garden aperitif, an important dinner, or a breakfast at the bar.”
This is how Nicola Cacco tells us how the small moments of sharing daily life became the spark from which everything started.
At Mobili Fiver, we believe that to create indelible memories it is necessary to live extraordinary experiences, leaving a mark. Our goal is for even a simple coffee in the garden with friends to become a sweet memory, and our way to help people make this possible is through our furnishings.
The Emma chair is for us a way to become part of these small everyday stories, offering an experience of high-level comfort and design, to try to make these small stories beautiful memories to share.
How does the design process unfold?
“The design process is very articulated: creating a product with low thicknesses and reduced weight opposes the need to have a solid and safe chair.
The moments that marked the project were the meetings with Mobili Fiver, where from the beginning the synergy and harmony in the design phase were combined with the excellence of a company cut out for great goals.”

What materials have been used to create the Emma chair?
“Our goal was to create a chair resistant, easy to clean, and perfect for outdoor experiences.
Sometimes outdoors, weather conditions can be really challenging, especially if we are near the sea. For this reason, we decided to use polypropylene, a material perfect for outdoor use and very easy to clean.
To make the Emma chair lighter and more manageable, we added fiberglass to the polypropylene.”
The result? A seat with slender and light lines, perfect for outdoor use, elegant for the living room, comfortable, and resistant to stresses. Moreover, the Emma chairs can be stacked on top of each other, making them an extremely functional type of furniture.
To guarantee all this, we chose to test and certify the Emma chair for resistance, durability, and safety requirements.
How do you think Mobili Fiver customers will react to the new Emma chair and in what type of environment can it be placed?
“To create the Emma chair, we played on the thin line between discretion and personality.
It is the type of versatile and elegant furniture that catches your eye as soon as you see it. The Emma chair is also our first collaboration with an external Italian designer: our intention is always to raise the bar of quality.
This is something Mobili Fiver customers know how to recognize and appreciate.
Perhaps, more than a matter of environment where we imagine it, it is a matter of how those who choose it will use it to express their style.
We have focused a lot on color: white and black for elegant spaces, up to warmer shades to convey feelings of welcome, warmth… like when you come home in the evening and think “here, I’m home.”
